deviations upon a scheme
the terrible part
of deception
is that the true masters
rely less upon the validity of the ruse
more upon the severity of the truth
a good liar
can’t weep
can’t sleep
can’t bleat
and i want the safety of the serpentine so sincerely
yet merely i am one severely
humane human
and the trigger finger is too loose
and the heart is too soft
and the whole point of this rotten bit of writing
was to tell You I can’t even lie to You any more
